Malta's
history is intimately tied up with the history of Grand Harbour. It was
the Harbour's natural magnificence, which persuaded the Knights of St
John to come here in 1530 and, make the island a vital defence post in
the struggle raging at the time between Cross and Crescent.
Be on deck when your cruise liner is entering the Grand Harbour when you
are about to see and photograph those bastions and fortifications built
by the Knights of St John. Those same fortifications which keep Malta's
history so much alive. It was the same Grand Harbour, rescued so many
times by the surrounding bastions of Valletta on one side and the Three
Cities on the other, which served this country for years on end. This
is only the beginning of a short but pleasantly surprising experience.
Visit the Neolithic Temples, visit Valletta, visit the old capital also
known as the Silent City - MDINA, visit the Three Cities or visit The
whole Island which is blessed by a pleasant climate and a hospitable and
warm people, Malta presents visitors with southern comfort, a down to
earth sophistication and a galaxy of stunning, visual experiences.
What to leave out, remains a problem!!!!!!
