The Mediterranean Conference Centre, constructed in 1574 under Grand Master Jean de la Cassiere, served as the hospital or "Sacra Infermeria" to the Order of St John, achieving fame as one of the foremost hospitals of that period in Europe.
Today this totally transformed centre boasts of the longest unsupported hall in Europe covering an area of 7000 sqm, housing six fully air-conditioned halls with varying seating capacities and, all equipped with simultaneous translation facilities. This centre also comprises a restaurant which can accommodate over 1,000 delegates and an exhibition hall, which can take over 100 exhibition stands of 9 sqm each.

An added advantage is that to date, Malta has eleven five-star conference hotels, all within striking distance of each other - which makes it very convenient to house delegates in more than one hotel. Most hotels offer their own in-house conference facilities with the latest electronic equipment.
